This fascinating and beautiful landmark could be Durham’s answer to the Angel of the North but it’s lying in pieces in a field! I’d love to see the tower reconstructed.
A really beautiful Grade II listed structure by a world renowned engineer Ove Arup. It's sadly lying open to the elements in a field with the police having applied for permission to not re-erect it. It's right next to a public footpath and very easy to get to.
Very interesting piece of history here such a shame it's just sitting there broken up and neglected
