Guys your attention PLEASE!

I honestly do not recommend this place at all. The waiter shown in the photo was extremely rude, unwelcoming, and showed clear disrespect towards us. From the start, his attitude made it obvious that we were not wanted there. After we paid, he began clearing tables straight away and made it very clear that he just wanted us to leave.

What made things worse was seeing him cleaning tables while eating food, which is completely unacceptable in any restaurant. That alone raised serious hygiene concerns. On top of that, the service felt rushed, careless, and borderline discriminatory in the way we were treated.

The food itself was nothing special at all and definitely not worth the experience. There are so many better places around Durham city centre where you’ll get better food, better service, and basic respect as a customer. It honestly felt like they only cared about taking our money and getting us out as fast as possible.

I will say the atmosphere and tables were okay, but that’s the only positive. Everything else completely ruined the visit. If you’re planning to go, I’d strongly recommend the one by the river instead it’s much better in every way.

This restaurant was a huge disappointment, and because of the staff behaviour and hygiene issues, I will be taking this further. Overall, a very unpleasant experience and absolutely not worth going.

On a cold and frosty night we were looking for something nice and hot to eat. What a great choice by going g into the Turkish Kitchen. The staff were welcoming and help us in the food choices.
The food and wine was fantastic the spicy chicken pot was great. Not too spicy and full of favour. The other dish was on the bone lamb shank and mash. The lamb just fell off the bone and no knife was needed. The food came quickly after the order and was super hot the wine helped too.
Finished off with some lovely Turkish tea.
Overall a great meal experience 😋

We didn't have a reservation (you should make one) and we were at first told they didn't have a spot for us. Then as we were standing outside using my phone to look for another spot, the woman came out and said she'd see what she could do. We got a booth and were told we just had to leave in a timely fashion.
We ordered the Sea Bass but luckily the waiter must not have heard as it wasn't given to us-  we were sated without it and were happy it didn't arrive.
We did have a Turkish feta salad. It was a large portion and was good.
We also shared a Vegetarian Guvec which was delicious, particularly the aubergines [eggplants] in it.
I had a glass of red which was a generous pour and tasted fine.

Had dinner here with my family.
The food were fabulous. Had mezes to share. The portions for two-to-share was like a meal itself. Had a wonderful time of trying the various meze combinations. The mains ordered were chicken shish and kleftico. The grilled chicken was very tender with a lingering smoky aroma. The slow cooked lamb shank was succulent and so tender that it fell off the bone easily. Pairing with Yakut, a Turkish red wine, completes this heavenly meal.
Service was warm and friendly. There was almost no wait for the food.
Strongly recommended.
(apologies for the photos as there was a huge red neon behind our table)
