This was a visit during York Unlocked. Highly recommend a visit if you can. Beautiful building and chapel.

Bishopthorpe Palace on the banks of the river ouse is the official residence of the archbishop of york. The grade one listed building dates back to 1242. A red brick wing was added in the 15th century and the impressive gatehouse in 1765. It is best viewed from the river on one of theboat trips from York.

Absolutely beautiful place. Was lucky enough to visit the palace for work and got a quick tour. The chapel there is stunning
