Came in after a work meeting on my way back to Leeds. The service is as friendly as ever and I had the fish and chips with mushy peas. It was fantastic and filled me up no end. This is a great place to go to and Newcastle is lucky to have a place like this just over the road from the station! More

A Cask Marque pub part of the Nicholson's chain. Good real ale selection plus ciders. Alic chose an 80 shilling from Edinburgh brewery Stewart's. A classic Scottish Heavy. Not on top form. Booth spotted this pub opposite the railway station. One room pub with a few tables out front. Food served. £17 fish n chips. Pies £16.50. More
