From this landing place you can take a short ferry trip over the tyne river from North Shields to South shields. This used to be one of the main methods of transport over the river before the pedestrian tunnel was built.
TOTAL RIP OFF MISLEADING PRICES OUT OF DATE POSTERS DISPICABLE OVERCHARGING OF PENSIONERS WITH NO EXPLANATION OF YOU CAN'T USE YOUR CONSESSIONARY METRO CARD IF YOUR NOT LOCAL WE PENSIONERS WERE CHARGED £4.10 INSTEAD OF £1.20 RETURN FARE TOTAL AND ABSOLUTELY A RIP OFF
Large waiting room for days when the weather isn't so good. Ferry every 30 minutes on the hour and half past the hour from North Shields. Free bus service into town as it's all uphill.
