The Water Pump in Poppleton is one of only a few surviving late 19th century pumps with its stone trough in the uk. It was to provide the local people and animals with clean drinking water before homes had their own water supply. It is one of four surviving pumps in Poppleton. It is an interesting reminder of our recent history. More
