The Closet Club

Went here for a drink after a show. Not many gay bars open through the week only this one. Always drink in Newcastle first time in Sunderland. Found the bar staff quite miserable and very reserved! First time I have ever felt uncomfortable in a gay bar. Watched 3 people walk in and walk out again. Would not go back! More

Never been to a queer bar that plays Rod Stewart and thinks that’s fine. Drag queens try but can’t hear a word they’re saying due to a really poor sound system. Music 2/10. Vibe 1/10. Effort 3/10

Could be much better. Meant to be an LGBT+ space but each time I visited straight couples were present and no one else. Before Closet Club took over the bar it had draft beers but everything in bottles now.
